Black Skin Chicken Products
Whole Dressed Black Namoi
(our premium Black Namoi table bird ready for roasting, baking and grilling)
Great Northern Poultry's Whole Dressed Black Namoi is a small tender table bird with:
- startling black skin and bones;
- a good layer of fat;
- a greater proportion of moist meat; and
- a deep and rich flavour.
When cooked, the skin turns a deep, glossy, obsidian black, and the dark beige flesh turns soft cream to white.
Black Namoi are exclusively created and produced by Great Northern Poultry. By introducing heritage breed genetics to traditional silkie chickens, Great Northern Poultry have developed a larger, more tender black skin table bird, that is frequently sought-after by premium restaurants.
Black Namoi are supplied with the head and feet attached. They are Pasture Raised and are hand processed without chemical intervention, bleach or toxic skin treatments.
Sizes range from approximately 500g to 1kg.
Whole Dressed Chinese Silkie

Great Northern Poultry Chinese Silkie is a small tender table bird with:
- black skin and bones;
- blue earlobes;
- five toes on each foot (most chickens have four);
- dark beige raw flesh and dramatically pitch black internal organs; and
- deep, glossy, obsidian black skin when cooked.
When cooked, the skin turns a deep, glossy, obsidian black, and the dark beige flesh turns soft cream to white.
Our Chinese Silkie are supplied with the head and feet attached. They are Pasture Raised and are hand processed using conventional methods.
Sizes range from approximately 400g to 700g.

Our Chinese Silkie Pullets have a soft, gentle nature and even temperament. They will often adopt and sit on orphaned eggs from other species (even giant duck eggs).
A range of plumage shades are available.

Gourmet Duck Eggs

Great Northern Poultry Duck Eggs are large and delicious, produced by happy and healthy Khaki Campbell Ducks.
Duck Eggs compared to chicken eggs:
- are larger and richer in flavour;
- have a higher fat and protein content; and
- contain more vitamins and minerals (such as iron, B12, folate and Vitamin A).
Duck Eggs are perfect for baking due to the high level of albumen, which creates a very fluffy and rich baked good with a higher lift.
